Oversized to Science

Windsor which was just off of London was where my sister took me to go sight seeing and that's when England decided to be 35 degrees. Before even stepping outside the house, we could already feel how warm it was, and it was the type where you just want to lay around by the pool and sun bathe.

My sister pointed out that I was wearing an oversized 'MEN' shirt and thought that it was our brother's and turned it into a baggy dress, unfortunately that was not true, this actually belongs to me. I know that most girls will relate to me with oversized shirts, it's comfortable, it makes an outfit look casual, and can be worn as a jacket in the summer. I like to think that girls can get away with it depending on how it is worn and accessorise for that feminine touch. I have actually always had a thing for oversized since I use to borrow my brother's, and most of his jackets he as actually given to me. But tell you what, I am so glad that I wore something that was bright and not black otherwise I would have been melting!

TIP:
Ever wondered why we wear light or bright coloured clothes in the summer? That is because of science... The light from the sun can either bounce off or be absorbed. Basically avoid black as possible because it absorbs the light and converts it into heat, hence why black is rarely sold in stores.

Christian Dior pattern on Aztec print shorts

That day pattern on pattern was the style that I went for and that was when England decided to be warm and sunny with no clouds in the sky. During that week I was living off my suitcase as I was making my journey to London to visit my sister. So I thought to wear my Christian Dior shirt that my brother generously gave, bearing in mind that this is a dark patterned shirt which I think is perfect for a casual winter look, as if I'm already mentioning winter, anyways the only shorts that I had with me was another pattern - Aztec print and this time the colours were of course a little bit crazy but it was appropriate for summer.

I know that some people would instantly go, 'Oh no, would not dare be seen in that as it doesn't work well together.' Those are for the people that does not know who I am, everyone has their own style and that's what makes you who you are therefore OWN IT, as Fashion is all about individuality.

TIP: Having pattern on pattern can be difficult to understand, the thought of clashing or swallowing you up and the judgement of others can be a bit traumatising, even though a lot would say not to care what others think but it still catches up to us as we are humans beings and it can't be helped. Nevertheless there are people that would still appreciate the quirkiness. The trick to this type of style that fits perfectly is going for similar prints to pair with or the most common one would be the colours, colours that complements each other or having one neutral coloured print to a bold print.

Before going to London I dragged my best friend for a catch-up lunch in Farmer Copleys and I never thought that it will take us awhile deciding on a place to go to in Pontefract. Farmer Copleys is a family environment perfect for chilling as they had activities like, strawberry picking, a petting zoo, they had they're own shops as well as a restaurant. I will never forget my first lamb and mint burger because of the fresh goods and the quality of the meat.

Military meets 90s Hair

I'm going to start this of by Laura (she is going to kill me), she was embarrassed of taking our photos. The reason being was cars and people walking by but I did tell her though that it should be Rosie and I that would be more embarrassed as we were the ones posing. However thank you for doing random request from us.

We took this right after lunch, sat outside and it was Steak Tuesday (Pub Food) as I kept complaining about the fact my legs were PALE and I wanted a tan. How ironic, someone like me who is naturally brown wanting to get darker? What is happening to me?!  This is why I decided to wear the playsuit so that I can get hit by the sun's ray.  This playsuit was actually a good bargain too for £10 in ARK and it was the only one left therefore it was meant to be. The one thing that I fell in love with it was the back design! As I have a thing for always wanting to show my back for some odd reason, such a crazy obsession to have. We also know the black would of course go with any colour so having the military greens gave the look a more casual as the playsuit can be worn dressy on a special occasion or a night out.

So my advice is to look for clothes that is multi-purpose as it last longer!

Lunch like Sex and the City

That feeling when your re-acting one of the scenes in 'Sex and the City' with your girlfriends, meeting up for lunch, making the day of it with a few cocktails as we just see each other at uni! Since it is summer now, a little bit strange to say that we are use to always go in 5 times a week but we're still going into uni to do extra things. It may seem as if we are nerds but it's what we love and the reason why I'm there is that our tutor allows me to use her facilities to help me set up my own fashion business, and I can't wait to let you guys know about it soon!!

Before our meet up it is always annoying trying to think of an outfit, so my advice is to take one garment piece and work around it. That garment piece of mine was my lace top and I wanted to stand out from the crowd. I have a saying that I sort of live by and I believe that it is somewhat true, 'Dress well you'll notice the person, dress badly and you will notice the clothes...'

Credit to Laura for taking the pictures. :D

St Stephens Race Style - Ladies Day

So I started off as a volunteer (dresser). This happened last year's St. Stephens Race Style - Ladies Day in Beverly, where are a friend of mine simply tagged me on a status, and from then on I slowly started to get more involved and I will forever be grateful.

This fashion event is to basically showcase that there is no need to splurge on any expensive garments and if you take yourself down to one of the high-street stores, it will be priced cheaper and there will be outfits that looks similar to the look that you are after for. The stores that worked with us were Next, Lipsy, River Island and New Look and we thank them for always allowing us to use their clothes, but we all know that the outfits would not be complete without an incredible fascinators for the Ladies.

The fascinators that were featured are done by the brilliant What A Hat (http://whatahat.co.uk/) and they were kind enough to allow us to use some of their fascinators on the day, and I must say that each designs were flawless and the quality were truly shining through with no room for disappointments.

We also had someone called Lara Jensen originally from Hull who is an amazing milliner and accessory designer that worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Jessie J, The Rolling Stones, Karl Lagerfeld and so on... Jensen was there to help and support the event by designing and painting the horse promoting Ladies Day.

Working for this type of event is good enough for me to gain experience from, as Fashion is something that I'm passionate about and it doesn't really matter as long as the job makes you happy, right?

My intake to the 60s...

Be honest, have you ever worn your clothes more than once or even paired it with other clothes in your wardrobe, before purchasing a new outfit? I knew that I was that kind of girl to instantly buy something new for a special occasion or even when I was bored. I believe that this is a problem that every girl has been battling with.

Therefore this outfit was actually purchased two years ago. I thought of just mixing and matching, as I did not really want to buy anything new and I still wanted that casual style, so paring it with a plain blouse gave the cute fun look. Definitely my favourite outfit of the week, and will be my go to for any casual/smart events as it was what I wore on Tuesday for my End of Year Show. Style can actually be a tricky one, unless you understand how the fashion idustry works. We know that Fashion is a constant cycle of the old and then becoming a massive trend of the year.

Without realising in the mirror, I took the style of the casual 1960s with me and I loved it. I know that the trend this year is the 70s: Boho, Hippie, flared jeans and clog shoes, and I love the 70s so much! However I just cannot stand that fact that I will be looking similar to a girl in flared jeans with a little Boho style.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution Foundation Review

Finding that perfect foundation can be annoying because it might give you break outs or can feel very heavy on your skin and ect... Although you have to waste a few pennies on the way to know which foundation fits for your skin, I know I did, on drug store products and few high ends.  Since high school I have had this imperfection skin and I know that is it a normal thing to go through the oily, acne phase of our lives. I went through a lot of products to try and grid or even cover the acne but only going to the dermatology worked.

That was when I started to take interest in Clinique products as they are always advertised to be for sensitive skin, and I back them up completely and forever will be a loyal customer.

So two years ago I went shopping in Leeds for some new skincare products and saw the Clinique anti-blemish solution, and I am the type of person to impulse buy before doing any research but I have used Clinique before so what harm could have they done to my skin? This bottle is small - 30ml and now priced at £24.50 however it is worth the money for that best result you want and I got the results alright! I had blemishes and without realising one day that my complexion started evening out, the consistency is so light and it feels like your own skin. It maybe small but this bottle lasted me for a few good MONTHS as I only use about a penny size worth of solution everyday. It spreads evenly whilst covering those imperfections and last all day to night.

I always get compliments about my skin as it apparently looks radiant and dewy. I have used more than ten bottles now and within those months I have tried other foundations but it was not Clinique. It was not the same, I felt like my face was caked on, really heavy and it was not comfortable at all. I might try other foundations in the future but as of now, noo...
